What is Unlocked?

Unlocked means the phone carries no carrier lock, so it works on any compatible network once your own SIM or eSIM goes in. Refurbished sellers list this separately from the condition grade, because a locked handset has to be unlocked before it is usable at all. All of the sellers here state it plainly: AGM Mobile, ALTERNATE, Back Market, BuyDig and Clove Technology each sell unlocked models. The thing to check instead is network bands, since an imported phone can be unlocked and still miss a band your carrier relies on.
