Pros and cons
Discount Electronics
Pros
- Entry price of $149 covers laptop, desktop and gaming pc, so laptops, desktops, gaming PCs, mini PCs and tablets all start from the same published floor.
- Returns run 30 days, which places the store 3 of 80 on that measure.
- Memory on custom builds reaches 32 GB, with graphics from nvidia, amd and intel on offer, so a buyer can specify the card.
Cons
- Warranty cover runs 1 year, level with the 1 median for electronics stores, so a longer term has to be arranged separately.
- Windows is the only operating system listed, so buyers after macOS or Chrome OS hardware have to look past this store.
- The category mix stops at computers and refurbished, narrower than Akkuk.hu at computers, phones and audio and Banggood at computers, phones and audio.
PCSpecialist
Pros
- Build to order applies, so memory and graphics choices are yours to set before a machine is built.
- Warranty of 3 years puts the brand top of the warranty ranking at 1 of 34.
- Support runs on email, phone and help centre, which covers phone and email alongside a help centre and community board.
Cons
- Entry price of €880 is well above the site median of €86.82.
- Operating systems come down to Windows, so buyers wanting Linux setups need another seller, unlike Scan which offers Windows and Linux.
- Returns allow 14 days, which is shorter than the longer windows some sellers give.
Who each suits
Discount Electronics
Who it suits
- US shoppers who want a Windows machine from computers and refurbished stock, new or refurbished.

Who should look elsewhere
- Not for audio shoppers: JBL lists audio, gaming and refurbished, where Discount Electronics keeps to computers and refurbished.

PCSpecialist
Who it suits
- Buyers who want a machine built to their own memory and graphics choices, since build to order applies.
- Anyone who weighs warranty length heavily, since cover runs 3 years.
- Shoppers who want one seller for laptop, gaming laptop and desktop rather than separate mini PC and laptop vendors.
Who should look elsewhere
- Buyers after a low entry price, since €880 is far above the site median of €86.82.
- Linux users, since operating systems come down to Windows while Scan lists Windows and Linux.
- Mini PC only shoppers, since GEEKOM focuses on mini pc and laptop.

Questions about each
Discount Electronics
How much does a computer cost at Discount Electronics?+
Systems start at $149 and the range covers laptop, desktop and gaming pc. Custom Dell builds are available, so a buyer can begin at the entry point and specify a machine rather than take a fixed configuration. The narrow part is the system: Windows is the only operating system listed, which limits how far the comparison stretches.
What else does the store sell beyond computers?+
Categories cover computers and refurbished, with refurbished stock listed alongside new machines, and the product list spans laptop, desktop and gaming pc. For wider ground, Akkuk.hu lists computers, phones and audio and Banggood lists computers, phones and audio, while JBL covers audio, gaming and refurbished.
PCSpecialist
How much does a PCSpecialist machine cost at the start?+
The entry price is €880, which sits above the site median of €86.82. On our price from ranking the brand places 25 out of 34, so it is a higher ticket purchase than most listings in the comparison.
How long is the warranty on a PCSpecialist machine?+
Warranty cover runs 3 years, the longest in our warranty ranking, where the brand places 1 out of 34. That cover is a large part of why the entry price sits above the site median of €86.82.
