Our verdict
ASUS spans more product types than any brand beside it, from laptops and gaming desktops to mini PCs, tablets and Chromebooks, and UK orders return within 30 days. It suits buyers assembling a full setup from a single maker, with the cheapest listings under the €86.82 site median.

Pros and cons
Pros
- Product types run from laptop, gaming laptop, desktop, gaming PC and mini PC through tablet and Chromebook (laptop, gaming laptop and desktop), wider than Scan (laptop, gaming laptop and desktop) and CyberPowerPC (laptop, gaming laptop and desktop).
- A 30 day return window in the UK leaves room to try a laptop at home before committing to it.
- Store categories cover computers, phones, audio and gaming (computers, phones and audio), so a machine and its extras can be bought in the same place.
- Graphics from Nvidia, AMD and Qualcomm (nvidia, amd and qualcomm), with displays reaching 720 Hz, cover both gaming machines and quieter everyday setups.
Cons
- Support runs on help centre and community, with no listed phone or live chat route for faults.
- The listed market is GB alone, so buyers elsewhere read different pricing and warranty terms.
- Operating systems cover Windows and chromeos, so macOS and Linux-first buyers find nothing here.
- Gaming gear is listed for pc, so console and handheld peripherals need another seller.
Who it suits
- Buyers who want a single maker for a laptop, a gaming desktop, a mini PC, a tablet and a Chromebook.
- Gamers who want Nvidia or AMD graphics in the same family as their everyday laptop (nvidia, amd and qualcomm).
- UK shoppers who want a 30 day return window and a trade-in route for old hardware.
Who should look elsewhere
- GEEKOM, if a mini PC or a laptop is the only thing on the list (mini pc and laptop).
- Scan, for anyone who would rather see a seller's own range of laptop, gaming laptop and desktop and skip the tablet and Chromebook lines.
- CyberPowerPC, for buyers whose list stops at laptops, gaming laptops, desktops and gaming PCs (laptop, gaming laptop and desktop).
Core features
Returns run 30 days on UK store orders, which is the most practical number here for anyone weighing a laptop against a desktop. A window that long covers delivery, unboxing and a working week, so a machine that feels wrong after a few days of use can go back. Memory tops out at 64 GB. That ceiling covers heavy multi-window work and large game installs on the larger models, while entry Chromebooks and mini PCs sit well below it. Because the figure is a range maximum, the memory in any single laptop, desktop or mini PC depends on the configuration chosen, so the spec on the exact model is what matters.
The company behind it
Behind the brand sits ASUSTeK Computer Inc., registered in Taiwan and founded in 1989. That length of trading history matters on the practical side, because a maker of this age keeps parts, firmware and service routines in place for machines sold years ago, which is one of the checks buyers make before committing to a long-lived desktop or laptop. Support runs on help centre and community. Most answers therefore sit in the help centre or in community threads, so sorting out an issue can mean reading rather than talking to someone. Buyers who put weight on direct contact may prefer a seller whose support list runs wider.

Frequently asked questions
Which kinds of computer can I buy from ASUS?+
The range covers laptop, gaming laptop, desktop, gaming PC, mini PC, tablet and Chromebook (laptop, gaming laptop and desktop). That is broader than Scan, which lists laptop, gaming laptop and desktop, and CyberPowerPC, which lists laptop, gaming laptop and desktop, so ASUS is the easier single stop for a household that needs more than a single kind of machine.
Where does the entry price sit?+
Across the brands compared here the entry price median is €86.82. Listings stretch from the €33.92 mark to the €201.87 mark, with the cheapest at €5.25. A spread that wide means a budget Chromebook and a high-end gaming desktop sit far apart on cost.
How long are returns open on ASUS orders?+
UK store orders can be returned within 30 days. That is long enough to cover delivery, unboxing and a working week, so a laptop that feels wrong after a few days can go back. It also sits alongside a trade-in route, which is useful when an older machine is being replaced.
Which graphics chips do ASUS laptops use?+
Graphics come from Nvidia, AMD and Qualcomm (nvidia, amd and qualcomm), so the chip depends on the model rather than on a single house standard. Nvidia and AMD cover the gaming laptops and desktops, while Qualcomm appears on a much smaller share of the range, which narrows the choice for anyone fixed on one chip.
Which operating systems does ASUS ship?+
The listed operating systems are Windows and chromeos, covering mainstream Windows machines and the Chromebook line. There is no macOS or Linux-first option in that list, so a buyer with that requirement is better served by another brand on this comparison.
How much memory can a configuration carry?+
Memory tops out at 64 GB. That ceiling covers heavy multi-window work and large game installs at the top of the range, while entry Chromebooks and mini PCs sit well below it. The memory in any single laptop, desktop or mini PC depends on the configuration, so read the spec on the exact model.
What support does ASUS give?+
Support runs on help centre and community. The help centre and community threads carry most queries, and no direct phone or live chat route is listed, so it pays to search before buying and again if a fault develops. Buyers who want a person on the line should favour a seller with wider support.
Which market do these prices cover?+
The listed market is GB, so pricing, warranty terms and the 30 day return window apply to UK shoppers. Buying in another region means reading that market's own listing, since store terms differ and the figures on this page describe the UK.
What displays can I choose from?+
Panel options include ips, va and oled, spanning TN, VA and IPS through mini-LED and OLED, with refresh rates reaching 720 Hz on the fastest screens. Entry panels and high-refresh panels share the same range, so the panel type and refresh rate on the specific model tell you more than the maker name does.
