Our verdict
Anbernic suits buyers on a budget who want portable gaming gear, with handheld consoles and controllers both sold and platforms covering pc, switch and mobile. The trade-off is aftercare, where warranty cover runs 1 year and help stops at email, help centre and community.

Pros and cons
Pros
- The range spans handheld and controller, so a handheld console and a controller come from a single maker.
- Platform coverage of pc, switch and mobile keeps the gear useful across PC, Switch, mobile and standalone play.
- Wireless is listed as yes, so the controller works without a cable.
- Support is offered on email, help centre and community, including a help centre you can read without waiting.
Cons
- Warranty cover is 1 year, and Anbernic sits at 17 of 40 brands on warranty length.
- Support runs on email, help centre and community, with no phone or chat route among the listed options.
- Battery life of 21 hours is well under 40, the median for gear on the site.
- The lineup is handheld and controller, and it does not cover the headsets, mice and keyboards that gaming headset, gaming mouse and gaming keyboard covers.

Scored 9.3 / 10 by GizmoCue.
Who it suits
- Budget buyers who want a portable console and a pad in one place, since the range covers handheld and controller and starts at $12.99.
- Players who move between PC, Switch, mobile and standalone, matching the pc, switch and mobile platform list.
- Owners happy to self-serve, since support runs on email, help centre and community.
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone who needs phone support or a mouse and keyboard as well, since help runs on email, help centre and community while HyperX covers gaming headset, gaming mouse and gaming keyboard.
- Shoppers whose purchase depends on a warranty longer than 1 year, who should weigh CORSAIR and its gaming headset, gaming keyboard and gaming mouse range instead.
- Audio-only buyers, since Skullcandy lists gaming headset and the handheld and controller Anbernic covers does not reach that type.
How it compares on our data
Anbernic ranks 3 of 47 brands on price from, and that is the strongest part of the picture. Warranty years tell the other story, with the brand at 17 of 40 brands ranked on cover length. Readers who weigh cheap hardware above a long safety net will find the price position the deciding figure here. Anyone doing the opposite should read the warranty term before ordering.
Core features
Wireless is listed as yes, so the controller works away from a cable. Battery life is 21 hours, the number to weigh against long sessions and how often a charger has to be at hand. Warranty cover is 1 year, a short term for hardware that gets carried around, and the same figure covers the range. A shopper who expects a long ownership period is buying the play value, not the aftercare.
The company behind it
Anbernic is run under HK YANGLIMING ELECTRONIC TECH CO., LIMITED, the legal entity named in the terms of service, and the company was founded in 2017, so it is a young outfit rather than an established console maker. Support runs on email, help centre and community. Email is the direct route, the help centre holds written answers, and the community channel covers peer questions, with no phone or chat route among the listed options.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an Anbernic device cost?+
Prices start at $12.99, and the range covers handheld and controller, so handhelds sit above that entry point. Anbernic ranks 3 of 47 brands on price from, which puts it at the budget end of gaming gear rather than the premium end.
How long is the warranty?+
Cover runs 1 year on Anbernic devices. That sits at 17 of 40 brands ranked on warranty years, so it is a short term next to the longer guarantees in the same category. Buyers who want a bigger safety net should check the term before ordering.
How long does the battery last?+
Anbernic states 21 hours of battery life for its featured handheld. Across the site the median for battery life is 40, so the figure sits below the middle of the field and long sessions need a charger kept close.
Is the Anbernic controller wireless?+
Wireless is listed as yes, and the same listing covers pc, switch and mobile. Because the range spans handheld and controller, a controller can sit alongside a handheld in one order and be used without a cable. The 21 hours battery figure is the one Anbernic states for its featured model.
What platforms does Anbernic gear support?+
The listed platforms are pc, switch and mobile, so PC, Switch, mobile and standalone play are all covered by the same maker. The range is handheld and controller, which means the handheld and the controller sit in one catalogue rather than two.
Who is behind Anbernic?+
Anbernic trades as HK YANGLIMING ELECTRONIC TECH CO., LIMITED and was founded in 2017. The terms of service name the same entity, and they are the document that explains the 1 year warranty, so read them before a long purchase.
How do I contact Anbernic support?+
Support runs on email, help centre and community, so email is the direct route and the help centre holds the written answers. The community channel covers peer questions, but there is no phone or chat route among the listed options, so a hardware fault means an email or a forum post rather than a call.
Does Anbernic make headsets or mice?+
The range is handheld and controller, so there are no audio or keyboard products to compare. If a headset, mouse or keyboard is the goal, HyperX covers gaming headset, gaming mouse and gaming keyboard, and Skullcandy covers gaming headset for audio alone.
