Pros and cons
Pros
- The entry Bluetooth controller is $19.99, a low figure for a wireless pad.
- Wireless is confirmed across pc, playstation, xbox, switch and mobile (pc, playstation and xbox), so one pad can cross platforms.
- The range spans controllers, gaming keyboards and gaming mice (controller, gaming keyboard and gaming mouse), a broader mix than Skullcandy's gaming range of gaming headset.
- Support runs on email and help centre, so written answers come through email or the help centre.
Cons
- The warranty term is 1 year, so a dropped pad or a worn stick falls on the buyer after that window.
- Support runs on email and help centre only, with no phone line or live chat route for urgent faults.
- Headset buyers have fewer options here, since HyperX lists gaming headset, gaming mouse and gaming keyboard and CORSAIR lists gaming headset, gaming keyboard and gaming mouse, both audio led.

Scored 9.3 / 10 by GizmoCue.
Who it suits
- Players who want one wireless pad across pc, playstation, xbox, switch and mobile, since the listed platforms are pc, playstation and xbox.
- Shoppers building a full desk setup, since the range covers controller, gaming keyboard and gaming mouse while CORSAIR's covers gaming headset, gaming keyboard and gaming mouse.
- Budget buyers who want pads rather than headsets, with entry prices at $19.99 against Skullcandy's headset only range of gaming headset.
Who should look elsewhere
- Headset first shoppers, since Skullcandy's gaming range is gaming headset and CORSAIR's is gaming headset, gaming keyboard and gaming mouse.
- Anyone who needs phone or live chat help, since support runs on email and help centre and nothing else.
Where it sits among rivals
On price, 8BitDo ranks 8 of 47 brands, which places the range near the front of the field on the measure most shoppers check first. Warranty length reads differently: the brand sits at 17 of 40 brands on that measure, so the cover here is a standard term rather than a generous one. Read together, the two numbers describe a brand that competes on what its gear costs and accepts average protection at the back of it. That split suits budget buyers, while anyone shopping mainly on cover length should weigh a longer term before settling.
What it does well
Wireless is confirmed, so pads and peripherals run without a cable, which suits a shared desk or a sofa setup as much as a desk. The warranty term is 1 year, and that is the figure to weigh before buying: a worn stick or a failing button can fall outside cover once the period ends. Where the range is generous is in connection freedom rather than length of protection.

Frequently asked questions
What does the cheapest 8BitDo controller cost?+
The Bluetooth controller range opens at $19.99, and that entry figure ranks 8 of 47 brands on price from, so the low end competes with bigger names. Models above it cost more, and the shop lists the range in price order.
Which platforms does 8BitDo gear work on?+
The listed platforms are pc, playstation and xbox, so one pad can move between a desktop, a console and a phone. Connection is wireless rather than cabled, which keeps the setup tidy. Check your own platform against that list before ordering, since it is short and specific.
What kinds of gaming gear does 8BitDo sell?+
The range covers controller, gaming keyboard and gaming mouse, so controllers sit next to gaming keyboards and gaming mice rather than standing alone. HyperX lists a similar spread with gaming headset, gaming mouse and gaming keyboard, while Skullcandy's gaming range is gaming headset only, making 8BitDo the one built around pads.
How long is the warranty on 8BitDo gear?+
The warranty term is 1 year across the range. On warranty length the brand ranks 17 of 40 brands, a middle position rather than a long one, so buyers who keep controllers for years should check the cover before paying.
How do you get help from 8BitDo?+
Support runs on email and help centre, so questions go by email or through the help centre. There is no phone line or live chat on that list, which matters most when a controller stops responding mid session. Both channels are written, so answers arrive in a thread you can search later.
Which countries does the 8BitDo shop ship to?+
Shipping reaches AR, AU and AT. Support there runs on email and help centre.
How does 8BitDo score overall?+
The brand scores 9.3 overall, split into 9.8 on cost and 8.8 on the offer. Cost carries the stronger part of that total, which fits a range priced at the low end while keeping a short warranty. Neither part speaks to build quality or battery life.
Which brands are worth comparing with 8BitDo?+
3 alternatives are listed here. HyperX and CORSAIR both cover keyboards and mice, with HyperX adding gaming headset, gaming mouse and gaming keyboard, while Skullcandy's gaming range is gaming headset only. That makes 8BitDo the pick for pads and Skullcandy the pick for headsets.
