What is Max print speed (mm/s)?

In short

The fastest movement the print head is rated to reach, in millimetres per second, and the clearest single number for separating a fast printer from a slower one.

Max speed is the top speed the print head is rated to reach, measured in millimetres per second. A higher number means the machine can lay material down faster, which shortens print times on simple models and matters most for large, low-detail jobs. It does not tell you how clean the surface will be, because real print quality usually requires slowing the head down. Speed claims also differ in how they are measured. ALTERNATE, Artillery3D, Bambu Lab and Creality each state a max speed of 600 mm/s, while BIQU states 100 mm/s. Read the figure as a ceiling, not a working average.
